The story
Pause House started with a simple idea: two small houses, on two ridges, that get out of the desert's way. Built in 2020 and owned by the same two families since, they're deliberately spare — 560 square feet each, glass where it matters, nothing to maintain but the view. The name is the instruction: take a pause from everyday life and tune into all the High Desert has to offer.
The houses
Two houses, same idea, opposite hours. Pause House AM is white on white, tuned to first light — coffee at dawn, bright quiet afternoons. Pause House PM is dark wood and low light, built for dusk — fire at sunset, stars from the tub. They sit on adjoining ridges above Yucca Valley, close enough to share a sunset, far enough apart to feel alone.
Two guests per house — no extra guests.
A full kitchen, plus a BBQ grill outside.
Yes — each house has a Level-2 EV charger.
Mini-split heating and air conditioning at each house.
Both houses have fire sprinklers.
Both houses run on Starlink satellite internet — fast, low-latency connections that have no business being this good in the middle of the desert. Stream, take video calls, work remotely.
Yes — both houses can be booked together for a group of four.
